Aquatics Gauteng Championships

Only 3 Academy swimmers entered this competition, selecting a few chosen events, over the 2 day competition, in the hope of swimming qualifying times. Swimmers work hard to qualify for the highest Regional and National events, hosted around the country in March and April 2019.

Annebel and Mikayla have several Level 3 times each. Tambai has 2 SA Junior qualifying times for 13 year olds.

Annebel Van Wyk (10) was our top scorer for ESP adding 47 points to the board. In the 4 events she chose to swim, she won 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal, and finaled in the 100m free.

Tambai Dutiro (13) swam 3 events finishing on 23 points. He chose 3 events winning 2 bronze medals, in the 200m and 100m backstroke events, and qualifying for the 100m freestyle final.

Mikayla Pon (11) swam 4 personal best times, and again qualified for all four finals to score another 15 points.
